Rules and regulations of Indian Railways
Traveling through train is also a great pleasure, but there are various rules that are to be followed while you are booking a railway ticket for you. Certain points are illustrated below to make you aware of the facts and figures regarding railway facilities.
Berth and seat numbers Indication
At the time of booking, the passengers are confirmed regarding
reservation of berth that is to be allotted and the berth and
coach numbers are also indicated on the ticket at the same sink
of time. In the cases of first class coaches and first class ACC,
the above facility is not recommended. The people traveling through
first class or first Acc are allotted with the compartment or
cabin number at the time of chart preparation.
Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC)
The names of the passengers, who fall under reservation against
cancellation, are initially provided sitting accommodation that
is reserved. These individuals are stipulated with the berths,
when the seat gets vacant, due to last minute cancellation of
reservation. This cancellation process occurs simultaneously with
the reason, when the passenger does not turn on time before the
departure of the train.
Ceasing of the Reservation Work
At the reservation counters, the request regarding the reservation
is initiated, just four hours before the schedule time for trains
to depart. As the reservation closes, when four hours are completed,
the next step is to get the reservation done at the current counters,
which is initiated at the stations itself, one hour before the
schedule time fixed for departing of the train. Either conductor
or ticket collectors on the platform are eligible to book seats
or berth, only on the availability of vacancy.
